R.L. Burnside's Magic Missile

The late, great R. L. "Mr. Wizard" Burnside in the
midst of casting Otto's Irresistible Dance
Here's something for those of you in the path of a 36-hours-of-continuous-snow blizzard. When you see the first snowflakes coming down, go to the kitchen and make yourself a magic missile. Specifically, put some water on to boil and then:

1.Cover the bottom of a mug with a thin layer of maple syrup (honey works too)
2. Add a shot of bourbon/whiskey
3. Add a bag of rooibos tea and the water, once it boils
4. Let the whole shebang steep as you start to play A Ass Pocket of Whiskey (see below) on the stereo.
5. Mix and then sit back and sip as you listen to the one-and-only R. L. Burnside and the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion howl along with the wind whipping outside your windows.

P.S. Be sure to tune into the theremin work on the finale, "Have you ever been lonely?".

  2. The Chicago Missile (revised on the occasion of the Chicago Cubs winning the World Series in 2016 to break a 108 year curse): Replace bourbon with cognac. Replace R.L Burnside with Wesley Willis.
