可以清心也

A blog post by a Taiwanese blogger mentioned something we hadn't heard of. Apparently it is very common for old teapots (for making Chinese tea) to have these  5 Chinese characters on it:

可以清心也

The 5 characters are arranged in a circle. See a photo here

The interesting thing is that you can start from any character and read in the clockwise direction. Each combination gives a slightly different meaning:

可以清心也 (it) can calm the mind

以清心也可 use it to calm the mind, it works

清心也可以 calm the mind is also doable/possible

心也可以清 the mind can be calmed

也可以清心 (it) can also calm the mind
